i got disfelowshiped when i divorced my husband and altho we both went on to have relationships with other people he didn't get disfelowshiped as he wasn't going to meetings.
we have since then got back together and i find it so frustrating that i still get treated like a leper being shunned by his family and all the other witnesses but he still gets invited to dinner and works with them.
i don't want to be best buddys with any of them i just hate it when they cross the road to avoid me .
Just proof that their rules are man-made and they are not being led by God or Holy spirit or holy anything. You both committed the same act, but their DF rule means you are mistreated.

i was wondering if this was being taught in the congregations.
my sister who is still a jw told me this the other day when i said that the wtbts has only been around for a short time, relatively speaking.. my mother, who hasn't been to a meeting in years, agrees with her.
what is being taught now with regards to this, does anyone know?

we are great friends now....but he wasn't much of a father growing up.. worked all the time...we went on few vacations....pretty much pussy whipped my my nazis jw mother.. he never did believe in the whole jw thing.
he just when along with it, for my mothers sake.. she never did respect him for not being a "spiritual head" and pretty much let us kids know about it.. i, like my mother became very self rightious and judgmental.. i wished now he had just came to me just once and said "keith maybe the jws are not the people you think they are.
" but he was to afraid of my mother to say that...even though he knew it to be true.i would have never believed him....back then....but it would have planted a seed.... .

My dad is a mild and kind person. He always said the same about his own dad. People have called my dad weak, but I don't believe that he is, he has always been a truly good person. He has been bullied by my mom. I learned more about what's really important from my dad-things like loyalty to family and the importance of having close friends. My mother, a 30 year pioneer, has been abusive to him physically, I've seen that, and verbally and mentally--because she's the boss. He became an elder because she pushed him to, it gave her more power.
He is now as biting and nasty as she is; although I know he wants to have a relationship with me, I know that she won't allow it. Sounds like Dawg's dad. Dawg, bless you for what you wrote about your dad. We don't speak, and I won't live falsely in order to get them to have a relationship with me.
My dad's an ex-Marine, but denies the honor of that service in lieu of the JW 'the military is evil' doctrine.

so this is the day that princess daisy boo entered the world, 30 years ago.. last night, my mom called and in the course of the conversation she say something along the lines of " thirty years ago today i was in labour - how does it feel to be almost 30... and then carried on about something random.
so my question to you all is this... how do your dub family or friends acknowledge your birthday, or do they?

my wife and i celebrated our anniversary last nite.
we were gonna go out to dinner, just the two of us, and leave our sons home with a pizza.
they are both in band at school, and my oldest just joined the school's jazz band last week (he plays clarinet and tenor saxophone.
It was a great story at Chinese food with a jazz band??? then got even better!
i have to insist on this.. a friend of mine, who is currently an elder (so am i, but will soon fade), once confessed to me that the most important thing for him is that his children grow drug-free, violence-free, and so forth (that type of thinking is, of course, the result of the wt indoctrination process, which divides the world in two: jw here and satan's people there).
in other words, for many witnesses the issue is not if this is the true religion or not; it is a matter of how do i get through the night?

I believe what you're saying is true about many JWs, they haven't logically concluded ANYTHING and so made the decision to be a JW.
I think that the WTS dogma is designed to appeal to certain emotions and fears that most people naturally have, fear for one's children-their health and future, our spouses, our own lives. It's just sales! A need is pointed out then the solution is then sold.
You make a good point about your friend. How easy it is to close your eyes and click your heels together and say 'there's no place like the new system there's no place like the new system' when you worry about these most dear things.
They call it 'throwing one's burden on you-know-who'. I call it refocusing worry in a positive direction.
i see many long-time posters and newbies getting offended at suggestions for .
some here to use deception with their family members or friends (or even the cong.. hounders).
i tend to be very honest with my wife, but i am withholding information.
JWs say that when Rachel hid the spies at Jericho, said 'they went that-a-way' when they were actually hiding in her residence wasn't lying, it was 'war strategy'. Yeah, it's a tough life, trying to hang on and appear one way to loved ones, but the alternative can be losing one's livelyhood, marital peace, friendships--it can upset your entire LIFE.
This is different than say, a teenager who hides a drug or alcohol problem from his parents, totally different. That is lying, and a harmful deception.
This, my dear Watson, is war strategy.
